US President Donald Trump met with a number of national security advisers to discuss all possible variants in the case of North Korea's aggression, reports the RT.
"Donald Trump met with a National Security group to obtain information from US Secretary of Defense James Mattis and US Joint Chiefs of Staff Gen. Joseph Dunford.All variants of response actions were discussed in the case of aggression by North Korea in any way or of preventive actions in the case of North Korea's nuclear threat against the US and its allies, "the White House statement quoted by the RT said.
Earlier, James Mattis had urged troops to be ready for a military solution to the North Korean problem.
James Mattis' statement comes after a series of US President Donald Trump's publications on Twitter last week suggesting Washington might be considering a military option over North Korea. More recently, the US president said that "only one thing will work" for Pyongyang, saying that the policies applied to North Korea in the 25 years did not work.
