Russia would have sent Su-57 to Syria to contain American poachers?

The Russian Defense Ministry continues without commenting officially on the video showing the alleged arrival of Russian fifth-generation Su-57 fighters to Syria. However, anonymous sources and politicians have somehow clarified the subject.

A source from the Russian edition RBK in the Russian Ministry of Defense said that the Su-57s had been sent to Syria in response to the presence of stealth aircraft in the area.

"In addition, Russian hunting is intended to be tested under real conditions," said RBK's spokesperson.

On February 13, the Pentagon confirmed that it had used stealth aircraft overnight in the Syrian province of Deir ez-Zor from 7 to 8 February, which resulted in the deaths of at least five Russian and CIS nationals.

The appearance of Su-57 planes in Syria could become a deterrent to the air forces of the border countries, which enter periodically in the airspace of the Arab country, Vladimir Gutenev, Russian deputy, wrote to the editors, not excluding the possibility of the fighters have even been sent to Syria.

Western Media Versions

Looking at information on fifth-generation Russian fighters being seen in Syria, Western experts believe that Russia could thus be testing the aircraft in combat conditions.

In particular, British aviation expert Justin Bronk said in an interview with Business Insider that the main task of Russian aircraft is to test "very innovative radars." So, he thinks, the Russian military plans to see if the Su-57 can really remain invisible to the US F-22 fighters.

US Air Force Lieutenant General VeraLinn Jamieson agrees with him: "The airspace of Iraq and especially Syria has been a great treasure for them to see how we operate."

In addition, believes Justin Bronk, sending fighters to the Arab country may be a campaign to promote Russian equipment in foreign markets, which can be considered a "combat-approved" platform.

Pentagon Commentary

As for sending Russian fighters, US Defense Department Representative Eric Pahon said the United States does not consider the Fifth Generation Su-57 to pose a threat to its military operations in Syria.

He added that the displacement of new airplanes in Syria contradicts Russia's statements about the reduction of its contingent.

The alleged displacement of two Russian fifth-generation fighters into Syria has already generated strong discussions in Western networks and media.

The Su-57 is the first Russian fifth-generation fighter. The plane is barely visible to the enemy, has a high maneuverability, being able to fly supersonic speed.
