Timeline

Due to the growing number in cases of homophobia in the ABC region a group of people began to gather, seeking alternatives to raise awareness and combating homophobic violence. Thus was born the Ong ABCDS.

ABCDS organized the first Pride Parade LGBT Santo André, even with all the unforeseen and being prevented from carrying out the full path. The organizers and participants resisted the attacks and the arrest happened. ABCDS leaves the registered his gratitude to the councilor de Paiva Heleni for their cooperation in this first demonstration. In 2005, together with six other organizations, ABCDS participated in an action that called the TV Network Award cancellation due to constant offenses of human rights, displayed in "Hot Afternoon" program. As a result of a plea deal was carried out and displayed the program "Response of Rights" which had as its main theme prejudice.

The second stop LGBT Pride was held and again the event's organization faced barriers. The location stipulated by the city was not ideal and the event ended an hour before the stipulated by the office and a couple came to be assaulted by a municipal guard. The councilor de Paiva Heleni approved the Law Solemn Session of LGBT Pride.

The third stop of the GLBT Pride St. Andrew was a success, about 25,000 people were present. This year the NGO can count on the support of veradores: Heleni de Paiva, Zé Ricardo, Lolo, Paulinho Serra, Dr. Aidan Ravin, Dinah Zekcer, Zechariah, Claudio Malatesta and Dr. Airton. These councilors made a front against homophobia in the Municipality of Santo André.

was a difficult year for the LGBT community of St. Andrew, cases of violence and homophobia grew in the region and the NGO allegations made in all spheres. The fourth edition of St. Andrew's GLBT Pride Parade suffered attacks and were placed several bureaucratic barriers so that the event did not take place, however we were the same streets without electric trio, at the end of the parade were recorded cases of PM of coming violence.

Thanks to the support of the deputy mayor Dinah was possible to perform the fifth stop of the city, however, the military police prevented the electric trucks were used. We had the first stop of GLBT pride that went silent in Brazil. Reports of homophobia and violence have been documented and brought to the Chamber of Deputies of the State of São Paulo, the DECRADI and the Public Security Bureau. So we had a big win: the Zecker Israel vereados brings into law on May 17 the day of Fight against Homophobia in Santo André.

A new period begins for Ong ABCDS owes much to the support of State Representative Carlos Gianazzi it took the matter to the Secretary of State for Public Security. The police became able to perform the safety stop. The sixth edition of the LGBT Pride Parade was held with the police as true partners.

Parade took a real leap in quality, the seventh edition was considered a real success.

soon.

Soon.

In celebration of 10 years of Ong ABCDS a group of volunteers redesigned the visual identity of the Organization, who also won a new site.
