Kaiya is the dog of Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu. She has recently been adopted and, according to Reuters, bit two visitors at an event on Wednesday (9), including the husband of vice-chancellor.

At a ceremony to mark the Jewish festival of Hanukah, the bitch of 10 years also took a bite at a party MP Likud, Mr Netanyahu.

Sharren Haskel, veterinary nurse and Israeli member of parliament, played down the incident, telling Army Radio that it was "trivial".

The son of Netanyahu adopted the dog from a shelter earlier this year. The prime minister posted a picture on Twitter in August urging dog lovers to look for adult animals to adopt, saying, "You will not regret it."

Kaiya already met several personalities, including US Secretary of State, John Kerry, who it seems escaped unharmed.
