Newborn is found alive in hole covered with rubble in the US
Police remove chunks of asphalt and debris to rescue child; case occurred in Compton, south of Los Angeles
A newborn child was found alive in a hole covered with pieces of asphalt and rubble on a street in Compton, south of Los Angeles in the United States.
Police were alerted by women who walked on the banks of a local river, often used for hiking, reported CNN.
According to CBS, two sisters, Evangelina McCrary and Angelica Blount, made their daily walk on Friday when they heard a strange, muffled noise.
"My sister said, 'you can hear a baby crying?' I said. 'No, I do not know, can be a cat' And she insisted: 'No, it's a baby,' "said Blount CBS.
"I was very saddened to hear the baby crying," McCrary said.
Police were called and, upon arrival at the site, the agents also heard a 'muffled baby cry, "the spokesman Marvin Jaramilla. The child had been left beneath asphalt and rubble pieces within a slot on the bike path.
The police removed the material carefully and removed the newborn female. "The baby was wrapped in a blanket. Her skin was cool," Jaramilla said.
