Pakistan tests ballistic missile after announcement of dialogue with India


                        


Islamabad 11 Ten (EFE) .- The Pakistan tested this successfully Friday ballistic missile Shaheen-III, with capacity to carry nuclear warheads and a range of 2750 km, two days after the announcement of resumption of dialogue with India .

The test aimed to retain various technical and design parameters of the missile, which was launched with the point of impact in the Arabian Sea, said in a statement the office of public relations Army (ISPR, in English).

The director of the Strategic Plans Division of the Army, Lieutenant General Mazhar Jamil, said that this is a significant milestone "in the deterrence capabilities" of the country.

"Pakistan wants peaceful coexistence in the region so that nuclear deterrence strengthens strategic stability in South Asia," Jamil indicated, according to the statement.

India and Pakistan regularly test missile with nuclear capacity, and in many cases the tests occur after the rival.

However on this occasion, the test takes place two days after Pakistan and India announced the start of a full dialogue for peace after three years without speaking and with several incidents in their de facto border, which left dozens dead.

The announcement of a dialogue mechanism includes security, Kashmir, territorial disputes, economic and trade cooperation, navigation projects, narcotics, terrorism, humanitarian and religious tourism.

The two nuclear powers maintain their independence from the British Empire in 1947 a dispute over the Kashmir region, divided between the two countries and the two wars and have delivered several smaller conflicts, with repeated ceasefire violations on the border of fact in this region.
