Leader of EI says "caliphate" is doing well, despite air strikes

Audio attributed to Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi, "Islamic State" says bombings not weakened the group. Mocks commander of Saudi alliance and threatens Israel. Recording authenticity could not be confirmed.

The extremist organization "Islamic State" (EI) released a message purportedly recorded by its reclusive leader, Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi, saying the self-declared "caliphate" is going well, despite an unprecedented alliance to fight the jihadist group. The message also includes threats of extremist attacks against Israel.

In the 24-minute audio posted on Saturday (26/12), the speaker said that the air strikes carried out by the international coalition only increase the determination and the will of your organization.

Our 'State' is doing well. The more intense the war against him, purer and tougher it gets, "says the alleged Baghdadi. It also mocks the Islamic alliance recently established, led by Saudi Arabia.

"The US and its allies dream of destroying the 'Caliphate' through proxies and henchmen, and whenever an alliance of them fail or a tail is cut, they rush to establish a new covenant. Recently, declared an alliance with the Saudis who was falsely called Islamic alliance. "

He also warned Israel: "We are getting more part of you every day," and Israeli Jews will hide from EI "behind trees and stones." The male voice also called on Muslims worldwide to join the fight, stating that it is their Islamic duty to stand up everywhere.

The authenticity of the audio could not be confirmed independently. The entry was posted on pages affiliated to EI and Twitter, as occurred in previous messages. The last public statement attested to Baghdadi was released in May. Since then, apparently erroneously, the leader of EI was reported injured or even killed on several occasions throughout the year.
