The United States is partly to blame for not acting fast enough in Libya and underestimate what was needed to rebuild the country's government, said President Barack Obama on Friday.

"The United States has some responsibility for not acting quickly enough and underestimate the need to rebuild the government in Libya quickly," Obama said. "As a result, there is now a very bad situation."
