Online triples among young people in three years
online dating platforms is nothing new. But a recent survey shows that the number of young people between 18 and 24 who have joined this practice tripled 2013 here.
According to the research firm Pew Research Center, today, 27% of young people in this group say they have used some dating online platform against 10% at the beginning of 2013. In the United States, the number reaches 15%.
"Historically, young 20-somethings not resorted to online dating because, as studies indicate, they do not need this medium because of their social cycles," said Aaron Smith, director of the research center, the Mashable website.
The study, conducted with 2,001 young people in the middle of last year, shows that the change came particularly from mobile applications. "The rapid growth of this type of application points to a change in naturesa relations among young people today," argues Smith.
