In space race, Japan wants to step on the moon before China



The Japanese Space Agency, JAXA, has set a date to set foot on the Moon: 2030. The date was given to Japan's Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology after China revealed that it intends to accomplish the same feat in 2036.

For this, Japan hopes to have the help of other countries, because the idea is to take a probe manned by astronauts from different nations. Still without a name, the mission will have the concrete preparations begun eight years hence, in 2025.

JAXA has commented that it will deliver more specific details about the plans during the International Space Exploration Forum, which takes place in Japan in March 2018. Below you can see a recording of JAXA held on the Moon:
