US President Donald Trump staged a bizarre moment Tuesday by interrupting a call with the Irish prime minister to call a reporter and praise his smile.
"Come here! Where are you from?" Trump asked a reporter in the oval room, interrupting a call with newly elected Irish Prime Minister Leo Varadkar.
Caitríona Perry, the journalist in question, approached the US president, identifying herself as Washington correspondent for the Irish public television station "RTE." "She has a nice smile on her face, I bet she treats you well," Trump replied at a point the journalist called "bizarre" on Twitter.
