NASA shows space magic in unpublished PHOTO of 'Ghost of Cassiopeia'
Sometimes gas and space dust can create strange structures of unheard colors, similar to ghosts and other creatures reported by researchers at paranormal events.
One of the notable examples is the "Ghost of Cassiopeia," a nebula officially known as IC 63 and located 550 Earth-light years away from Earth in the constellation Cassiopeia.
Although the shape of this nebulous power reminds us of something normally spoken by investigators of paranormal events, its structure is mainly composed of hydrogen bombarded by ultraviolet radiation from the giant blue star Gamma Cassiopeiae. It is this star that makes the nebula shine with red light, while the blue tones represent the reflection of light by the dust inside the structure.
However, the IC 63 nebula is not the only object influenced by the giant star, which emits 34,000 times more energy than our Sun. In truth, the "Ghost of Cassiopeia" is part of an even larger nebula.
Planetary nebula is an astronomical object consisting of an ionized gas layer and a central star, a white dwarf. The formation of a nebula occurs when red giants and supergiants discard the outer layers in the final phase of their evolution.
