Search Ibope: President of Brazil: Bolsonaro has 59% of valid votes and Haddad, 41%

Fernando Haddad (à esquerda) e Jair Bolsonaro (à direita) disputam o segundo turno das eleições presidenciais no Brasil em 2018

The Ibope research institute released the results of the first round of the presidential election on Monday night (15).

In the valid votes Jair Bolsonaro (PSL) appears with 59% and Fernando Haddad (PT), appears with 41%.

The survey was conducted on Saturday (13) and Sunday (14), heard 2506 voters in 176 municipalities and has margin of error of 2 points, more or less.

The calculation considers only the valid votes, therefore excludes the null, white and undecided. Taking into account the total electorate, Bolsonaro leads by 52% to 37%. There are still 9% willing to void or vote blank, and 2% who did not know how to respond.

Ibope also measured the potential voting power of each of the competitors. After citing each candidate's name, the interviewers asked respondents whether they would vote for each candidate, whether they could vote, or not vote at all.

Bolsonaro is the one with the most convicted voters: 41% would vote for him with certainty, and 35% would not vote at all. Haddad is the one that has the biggest rejection: 47% would not choose it in any hypothesis, and 28% manifest certainty in the choice.
