The Swedish Academy has abandoned its attempt to get in touch with Bob Dylan, awarded the Nobel Prize for Literature, after several failed attempts, he said on Monday (17) the secretary of the institution, Sara Danius.

"Currently, we are not doing anything. I called and sent e-mails to his closest collaborator, and got very kind responses. To date, that's all," Danius told public radio SR.

The American singer and composer responded with silence to the prize awarded to him last Thursday. On the same night he presented a show in Las Vegas and made no comment about it.

"I'm not worried, I have the impression that will manifest itself," continued Danius.

Every year, on December 10 the chosen receive the prize from the king of Sweden at a ceremony and make a speech. So far, the Swedish Academy do not know if Bob Dylan intends to attend the event.

"If you do not come, will not come. Although this will be a big party. The award belongs to him," said the secretary.

Bob Dylan, 75, whose real name is Robert Allen Zimmerman, is one of the most influential singer-songwriters in the history of modern music. It is the first musician to achieve this prestigious distinction.
