The singer Shakira has donated on Tuesday, 11, US $ 15 million for the reconstruction of Haiti after the ravages of Hurricane Matthew, which hit the country last week.
The Colombian, who also helped Haiti in 2010 with a donation of $ 1.5 million to rebuild a school in the city of Port au Prince, then devastated by an earthquake that killed around 10,000 people, now made new contribution to Haitians through the ALAS Foundation.
Hurricane Matthew, considered the worst storm occurred in the Caribbean in the last decade, with winds of over 200 kilometers per hour, left thousands of Haitians in dire conditions.
The country has been receiving supplies and supports to help an estimate, according to Haitian authorities, to 350,000 needy Haitians.
