US admits possibility of high-tech war with China and Russia
The US Congressional Research Service has produced a report that looks at the consequences of international change and indicates how Washington must respond to new threats to global security.
In the document to which RT has had access, it is added that Washington, in designing the defense strategy, must consider the possibility of a potential large-scale conflict with countries such as Russia and China, as well as the need to use the high Against these countries.
The US Congress report adds that "competition between the three major powers - the US, Russia and China - arises," pointing out that Russia and China "are targeting key elements of the US-backed world order."
At the same time, the report points out that neither Russia nor China "seeks a direct military conflict with the US or its allies," but analysts say these countries may pose a threat to US security.
The report states that in the context of the formation of the US defense strategy, it is considered "the potential of the US for the so-called high-tech war against countries like Russia and China."
Particular attention is paid to the decline in US dependence on Russia and China for components for war material, RT says.
Now Washington is using the Russian RD-180 engines on its carrier rockets, but the US has already started developing its own analogues, the BE-4
In addition, Washington fears that China may limit exports of rare minerals used in the manufacture of US arms such as scandium, yttrium and lutetium.
"The technological and qualitative supremacy of the US military over the armies of other countries is now leveled because of the strengthening of the potential of countries such as Russia and China," it said.
The US has begun a modernization program that includes the incorporation of modernized F-35 fighters and the development of B-21 bombers, the Aegis air defense program, as well as new types of hypersonic and laser weapons.
The US is reviewing the military budget for 2018. This document points to the need for US military reinforcement in Europe to "contain the aggression of the Russian Federation." It is planned to spend 639 billion dollars for the needs of the Pentagon.
