Russia offers to act as an intermediary in disputes Iran-Saudi Arabia, say agencies
MOSCOW (Reuters) - Russia is ready to act as an intermediary to help resolve the dispute between Iran and Saudi Arabia, said a source at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Moscow, according to Russian news agencies.
"As friends we would be ready to carry out, if requested, a role of intermediary ... to solve the contradictions and any other that may arise between these two countries," the source said, according to RIA agency.
Iranian protesters stormed the Saudi embassy on Sunday morning in Tehran, after Saudi Arabia have run the Shi'ite cleric Nimr al-Nimr, leading the Saudi government to withdraw its diplomatic corps and sort the output of Iranian diplomats kingdom.
