THERMAL WATERS AND NATURAL MINERAL WATER - Crenotherapy, THERAPY AND THERMAL TERMALISMO- BRAZIL




With the discovery that different compositions (and sources of water) may have beneficial effects on health promotion and recovery, several professionals have come to rediscover, in the light of contemporary science, the therapeutic use of water; practice that accompanies human existence since the early days.

A. Terminology used and their meanings:

I. Balneology - Study of the baths.

II. Resort - Place where is practiced balneotherapy.

III. Spa Therapy - Treatment with mineral and thermal water (wider).

IV. Crenologia - Crenotherapy - Study of mineral waters.

It consists of the indication of the use of mineral waters for therapeutic purposes in a complementary way to

other health treatments.

V. Medical Hydrology - Treatment with mineral and thermal water.

SAW. Hydrotherapy - Different ways to use the mineral water and its application in health treatment (PNPIC).

VII. Crenotécnicas - are techniques used in applying Crenotherapy.

B. Classification of water on the chemical composition:

III. Alkaline - bicarbonate and ferruginous

IV. Earthy alkaline - Radioactive

C. As for therapeutic use

• Oligomineral

By its smooth radioactivity stimulates the functioning of the pancreas in diabetes. Action on gastric disorders, hipercloridia, acidity heavy digestions and functional bowel processes, increasing the flow of intestinal grooves regulating peristalsis and constipation.

• sulfurous

Used in liver function disorders, rheumatism, skin diseases, arthritis and inflammation in general. Beneficial for diabetics. Sedative hypertension and neuropsychic excitement.

• sulfated - "In"

Combat constipation, colitis and liver problems.

• iodide-covered

Action in adenoid, pharynx, and thyroid insufficiency inflammations.

• BROMETADA

Combat insomnia, nervousness, emotional disorders, epilepsy and hysteria. Tranquilizer and sedative.

Fracture healing, decreased sensitivity in cases of asthma, equizemas, skin diseases and bronchitis. It has diuretic action.

Action in cases of kidney stones, gastrointestinal disorders, liver disease, arthritis and gout.

Action in case of gastroduodenal ulcers. Helps eliminate uric acid and kidney stones.

Anti-inflammatory action and anti-toxic.

Use in cases of anorexia, different types of anemia, parasitic infections, allergy and juvenile acne. Stimulates appetite.

• fluoridated

Maintains healthy teeth.

• magnesian

Action in the liver and intestines, used in cases of chronic enterocolitis and liver failure.

• RADIOACTIVE

Functional action of the renal and biliary disorders. It is diuretic and laxative. Aids digestion. Displayed against rheumatism. Eliminates uric acid, lowers blood viscosity, is glandular and sexual stimulant. It reduces blood pressure.

• CARBOGASOSA

Diuretic and digestive, ideal to accompany meals. Rich in minerals. Helps replenish the loss of athletes, facilitates intestinal transit and stimulates appetite. Action against high blood pressure, kidney stones and bladder.
