On October 12, an asteroid will pass very close to Earth, warns the European Space Agency (ESA).

The fall of the legendary Chelyabinsk meteorite, which fell in the Russian city on February 15, 2013, left more than 1,400 injured, as well as material damages equivalent to $ 16.7 million.

According to ESA data, the asteroid will pass 44 km from Earth.

"It's close to hell," says the head of the European Center for Space Operations, Rolf Densing.


Fortunately, he said, the distance that separates our planet from the asteroid is "pretty safe."
