A family in the US state of Florida found the seven-foot snake in the attic of their home that would have lived with them for two to four years.
The local news agency WFLA reported that resident Bob van der Herchen found a jiboia at his house when he was trying to find out the reason for the noises coming from the attic.
According to Van der Herchen, in recent months his wife and son complained about strange noises coming from the attic.
"Two years ago my wife claimed to hear noises from the attic. My son believed there was a snake in the attic," he explained. However, Bob did not believe that was true. For him, the noises were just rats in the house.
One day he decided to prove that there was nothing wrong with the attic of his house. He was shocked to find a large jiboia in isolation.
Bob van der Herchen summoned a snake hunter to catch her. The specialist reported that the jiboia would have lived with them from two to four years and even got to change their skin during their stay in the house of others. The snake is almost 2 meters.
Van der Herchen believes that the snake was a domestic animal that was abandoned by its owner. The jiboia entered and left the house through a garden tree.
