A dream: the protection of condoms without the burden of loss of sensation during sex. And this can happen in the near future. Australian scientists have managed to improve the condom, making it more resistant and as thin as a hair.
What they did was extract the grass pulp spinifex type, common in Australia and the Middle East, and to force the material to pass through a small hole under high pressure to remove the waste wood. This left only nanocelulose fibers which can be mixed with other materials, such as latex used in condoms.
The result excited: the new condom support 20% more pressure and expanded up to 40% more than traditional condoms. And they were 30% thinner than the ultrafine protections available in the market, with 0.045 mm. But the idea of scientists is to enhance the refinement of the material and further reducing the thickness of the final product.
The discovery may also help in the production of surgical gloves. The thinner the material, the greater the sensitivity of the doctor - and the greater the chances of a safe surgery. But for now, most of them ambition is to make sex pleasurable increasingly secure, as if the condom was not even there.
