Ukraine: conflict in the east is not forgotten at the UN General Assembly



Despite the international agenda is now dominated by the situation in Syria and the refugee crisis in Europe, the issue of conflict in eastern Ukraine not forgotten during the UN General Assembly in New York.

The participation of the Russian President as well as the meetings held with Barack Obama are positive developments for Ukraine.

This is the conclusion of many Ukrainians after watching the speeches of both leaders in the plenary of the General Assembly.

In his speech Barack Obama did not forget the topic, noting the need for progress on the issue of resolving the conflict in eastern Ukraine as well as the annexation of Crimea by Russia.

The implementation of the Minsk agreement was another of the featured topics during the speech Ukrainian leader, Petro Poroshenko.

Still, in the streets of Kiev remains the concern about the situation that exists in the east.

The political analyst Volodymyr Fesenko said that in his speech, Obama did not forget Ukraine, having drawn attention to the situation in the east and Crimea. He said however that despite the issue not be forgotten, there are other issues that also require the attention of the international community.

In order to advance the implementation of the Minsk agreement, it is expected to meet Friday in Paris that will be attended by Vladimir Putin and Petro Poroshenko.
