Heart attack or angina are presentations of coronary artery disease. The heart muscle (myocardium) is fed through the coronary arteries, which carry blood from the aorta to the fibers. The heart can not use the blood that runs through it and is pumped to the rest of the body. Throughout the life of the cholesterol is deposited inside the artery, reducing the light through which the blood. This difficulty infarction to receive oxygenated blood leads to muscle pain (ischemia), causing pain during physical exertion. Sometimes this fat grows so much that breaks into the coronary light, completely blocking the vessel and causing intense suffering and death of muscle fibers (heart attack).
Infarction in Men
In men the pain of infarction is usually perceived as a pressure in the chest, ill-defined, a pain that one can not tell where it comes from. Can not find a finger. The pain may be accompanied by sweating without being feeling heat ( "cold sweat"), pain in arms, pain in the stomach and even jaw pain. Dizziness and fainting during pain may occur.
Heart attack in women
In women the symptoms vary more. The pain can be described as burning, stabbing, stabbing in the chest area. The pain in women are often undervalued because classically premenopausal women are less likely to have heart attack than men of the same age. Today women smoke, drink, have stressful jobs and little exercise. Use contraceptives, that associated with some other risk factors such as poor diet and physical inactivity, and smoking, increase the chance of stroke and heart attack.
Treatment
The entry time in the emergency room until the diagnosis is greater for women, and it makes a difference in the evolution of hospitalization. In coronary artery disease use the phrase "time is muscle", which means that the longer it takes to deal with, the greater the damage to the myocardium. Women are less subjected to thrombolysis men - thrombolysis is the treatment with a medication that attempts to unclog coronary acutely during acute myocardial infarction.
Treatment for men and women is the same. Oral medication, in less severe cases. intravenous medication such as thrombolytics, when we observe that artery is completely obstructed. And angioplasty, where available, which lets you locate where the obstruction and treat in a timely fashion, well located and generally more lastingly than thrombolysis. It is placed a "stent," a metal foundation inside the obstruction to prevent close again
