Brussels 26 set (EFE) .- The European Union (EU) and Iran should begin before the end of the year a "high-level dialogue" to address bilateral issues, regional and international mutual interest, on Saturday the European Service Foreign Action (EEAS).
The matter was discussed during the meeting the head of European diplomacy, Federica Mogherini, and Minister of Iran Foreign Affairs, Mohammad Javad Zarif, held in parallel to the UN General Assembly in New York on Friday, September 25, according a statement.
At that meeting, Mogherini and Zarif confirmed the commitment to implement the joint action plan, which will open the way to revitalized bilateral relations in different areas, and will enable cooperation in regional and international affairs.
Now he must "work for a high-level accompanying the bilateral, regional and international mutually beneficial dialogue," the statement said.
These talks will be led by the Iranian deputy minister for European Affairs and Americans, Majid Takht Ravanchi and political director of the EEAS, Helga Schmid.
The first dialogue is scheduled to take place before the end of the year, after which a ministerial meeting will be held in 2016.
In the context of exchange of regional issues, both pointed to the need to end the term war in Syria, and they declared themselves ready to cooperate with the UN and exchange views on how to contribute to this end.
