Puerto Rico - The growing fashion extravagant funerals in Puerto Rico won a case on Monday, when the body of a man was embalmed and placed around a table like you're playing poker. The request for the unusual funeral was made by the father of Henry Rosario Martínez, who wanted to honor his son, fanatic for the game. On the island, it is fashion embalmed and put the bodies as if they were performing some daily activities.


"It's the first time we do it here, but we regard as normal, because they have done these things elsewhere on the island," said José Meléndez, owner of Funeral Eternal Light, the town of Barceloneta. He said the man died "intoxicated by drugs," but the suicide hypothesis was discarded.

The extravagant funeral of Rosario Martínez joins the other carried a curious way in Puerto Rico since 2008, when Angel Pantoja Medina, 24, was laid up in the room of his home in San Juan.
