German passport is the first in the ranking of the most powerful

Who has the German eagle stamped in their passport can enter without a visa in 177 countries. In Latin America, Brazil is second only to Chile, with free entry in 153 nations.



The German passport is the most "powerful" in the world, according to an index compiled by the Swiss consulting firm Henley & Partners. It is the third consecutive year that Germany occupies the first place.

"Powerful" in this case means that the German passport is what allows the owner to travel to as many countries without needing a visa. In the case of the German document are 177 out of a total of 218.

Second in the ranking 2016 is the passport of Sweden, which allows to enter 176 countries without a visa. Third appear Finland, France, Italy, Spain and the UK, whose citizens can enter 175 countries without needing a visa.
Brazil occupies the 21 place, alongside Bulgaria and Romania. Brazilians can enter 153 countries without a visa. In Latin America, only Chile (19th place, 155 countries) is better placed.

The Henley & Partners is a consulting company based in Zurich, Switzerland, and specializes in obtaining citizenship and residence visas for rich people.
