Beijing has adopted a new version of a controversial Bill that imposes new restrictions on non-governmental organizations (NGOs), has announced the official Chineseagency Xinhua.
The text was approved by the National Popular Assembly (ANP), despite the protests of the charitable organizations and foreign Governments, concerned about the growing police control.
By the time the full content of the law was not released, but Xinhua had announcedearlier in the week that the third version of the Bill would save some of the more controversial devices.
According to Xinhua, the Ngos should be "attached" to an agency controlled by theChinese Government and account for their activities.
In addition, the police would have the possibility to cancel any activity considered a threat to national security.
The text also includes professional associations and academic institutions present in the country.
At the same time, NGOs would have "members" in China, except in the case of a special permit. In addition, any organization that the authorities consider that stimulates the "subversion of State power" or the "separatism" could be included in a blacklist, with the prohibition of activities in China, according to Xinhua.
