"Formula 1 pilotless" shows his new - and scary - Car

Machine will be fully controlled by computer - and can reach 300 km / h

Carro de corrida sem piloto deve chegar a 300 kph

The driverless cars are not yet a reality in everyday life. But, on the race track, they are almost: the debut of the first race without riders, the Roborace, is planned for the 2016-2017 season and the autonomous car model competition has already been presented to the public. He calls Robocar, and was created by designer Daniel Simon, known to have participated in the visual design of futuristic movies like Oblivion (2013) and Tron: Legacy (2010).

The absence of the pilot is a little strange, and gives the car a menacing look, like a drone. The speed also intimidates: without having to reserve space for the driver, designers were able to improve the car's aerodynamics, which should reach the speed of 300 km / h. The new model is electric and controlled by artificial intelligence.

Unlike traditional circuit races such as Formula 1, Roborace all teams will use the same car. Thus, there are the pieces that will make a difference - win team that has the most intelligent software to control the vehicle.

The championship will follow the circuit of Formula E, going before each main race. The Formula E was inaugurated in 2014 by the International Automobile Federation (FIA), in charge of Formula 1, to fully exploit the technology of electric cars in the sport.

The Roborace has a similar philosophy and says he wants to join artificial intelligence and motor racing in extreme conditions. "The world of the automobile and the artificial intelligence, which have been so separated, are colliding with an unstoppable force," said Daniel Simon. It is also likely that -colisões- happens on the track.
