Prince William and Kate Middleton attend charity match in India

MUMBAI (Reuters) - The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge attended on Sunday a charity cricket game with underprivileged children in Mumbai, the first day of a weeklong visit to India, whose script also includes the isolated kingdom of Bhutan in Himalayas.

Prince William his wife, Kate Middleton, were for the financial capital of India and found children from non-governmental organizations Magic Bus, Childline and Doorstep.

They did a tour on an open top bus and played a cricket match with a local team and children supported by the three charities.

Kate, who was wearing sunglasses and a red summer dress, white and blue, played with the legend of Indian cricket Sachin Tendulkar. She hit only one ball, leaving a lively match to William and the other players in the field.

The royal couple, traveling without children George and Charlotte, must attend a gala charity event inspired by Bollywood on Sunday evening amid speculation that Kate may appear in a sari designed by an ordered Indian designer.

William and Kate script includes New Dheli, where they will have lunch with Prime Minister Narendra Modi, a safari in Assam - famous for its rhinos of a horn - and Bhutan.

The visit will end on Saturday at the Taj Mahal, revisiting a scene - much photographed - the visit of William's mother, Princess Diana, in 1992, the monument.
