Apple sued for iPhone 6 touchscreen in problem
Apple is being sued in the US for owners of iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus, which claim that a defect in the smartphone design makes touch screens do not respond properly, making them unusable.
According to a national collective action proposal on Saturday, Apple is aware of the long existence of the problem, which often appears after a shaky gray bar appears at the top of the screen, but refused to fix it.
The plaintiffs relate the problem to Apple's decision not to use a "shell" of metal to protect the relevant parties, as was done in versions of iPhone 5.
"The iPhone does not serve its purpose of use as smartphones due to defects in sensitive screens to touch," according to the complaint filed a federal court in San Jose, California.
The plaintiffs accuse Apple of fraud and violating the protection laws of California consumers. They seek unspecified damages.
Apple declined to comment.
