Taliban video display of American hostages and Canadian
An American-Canadian couple, hostage four years ago the Taliban, appeared in a video broadcast on Tuesday, which ask their governments to pressure Afghanistan to stop Taliban run.
The Canadian citizen Joshua Boyle and his wife, the American Caitlan Coleman, who gave birth twice in captivity, were kidnapped in 2012 in Afghanistan while they were traveling.
In the video 1 minute 31 seconds, shared by the SITE Intelligence Group, which specializes in monitoring Islamist websites, the couple explains that his captors are "terrified" and "amazed" with the executions of its people by the Afghan government.
In early May, six Taliban sentenced to death were hanged in the first executions since President Ashraf Ghani hardened its policy against the insurgency.
It is not known when the video was made, but its diffusion occurs when rumors about running Anas Haqqani, son of the founder Jalaluddin Haqqani network responsible for several attacks against foreign and local forces in Afghanistan. Haqqani has been imprisoned since 2014.
