Brazilian government wants to use the Bolshoi to attract tourism


Ballet is one of the main symbols of Russia and could help increase tourism between the two countries


Brazil and Russia strengthen ties and one focus that unites the two nations is devoted Bolshoi Ballet, considered Cultural Heritage of Humanity by the United Nations and one of the main symbols of Moscow, the Russian capital.

Embratur (Brazilian Tourism Institute) want to use the image of Brazilian dancers, who work at the Bolshoi of Russia for promotional campaign to attract Russian tourists to Brazil.

The idea came from a conversation between the President of the Office Vinicius Lummertz, the vice-president, Michel Temer, and Tourism Minister, Henrique Eduardo Alves, on a visit to Moscow on Monday (14).

President Lummertz met with Vice President Michel Temer, ministers and businessmen participating in the 7th Meeting of the High Level Committee (CAN) Brazil-Russia. After the meeting, Lummertz, Michel Temer and Minister Henrique Eduardo Alves received Brazilian dancers who work at the Bolshoi Russian capital.

Three of them, like Eric Swolkin, Mariana Gomes and Bruna Gaglianone, are formed in the School of the Bolshoi Theatre in Brazil, located in Joinville (SC). The fourth dancer is David Motta, first Brazilian formed in the Bolshoi's headquarters.

"Dance in Russia is a striking artistic expression, very important for the country and the Bolshoi is an icon. The school of Joinville, for example, is the most visible link the two countries. We believe that a campaign with them will encourage the Russians to visit Brazil, "said the president of Embratur.

Then, the delegation visited the Brazil Pavilion at the World Food Moscow 2015, the leading trade fair of food, beverages and agribusiness Russia. Vinicius Lummertz also accompanied the opening of the event at the Brazilian stand. Tomorrow (15/10), Lummertz participates in the launch of the Committee
