You know that diet you will, surely, start tomorrow, or Monday? Well, there's a way to start this right now. It's only three steps: 1 levante, 2 - take a glass of water, 3 - drink. End. According to a study from the University of Illinois, drinking water, even if not as much water is thus helps you to lose weight.
The study was conducted over 18 thousand Americans, divided into four phases that occurred between 2005 and 2012. For the study, researchers asked participants to film absolutely everything consumed (solid or liquid) for two non-consecutive days. With the images, scientists calculated the amount of water in the food and drink consumed. The data revealed that an increase - even if only 1% - water intake was associated with significant reductions in the amounts of calories, sodium, sugar and cholesterol.
When consumption was up to three cups of water at most, there was a decrease of up to 205 calories, reducing sugar reached 18 grams, cholesterol lowered by 21 grams, and sodium reached a decrease stunning 235 grams. That is, people who drink more water consume much less food.
The study points out that there were no significant differences in results when compared to color, gender, weight, height, social class or education level - drinking water improves the diet of anyone. "This finding suggests that we should promote universal nutritional intervention with educational campaigns to promote the consumption of water instead of caloric beverages," he said in a statement Ruopeng An, kinesiologist (specialist in human movement) at the University of Illinois who authored the report.
