Earth orbit model made of Lego is almost perfect

Canadian duo used 462 pieces to reproduce the movements of Earth, Sun and Moon with 97% accuracy

What is the coolest thing you rode already using Lego pieces? A magnificent tower? A cart? That house without windows? Well, the Kristal Canadian and Jason Allemann, JK Brickworks site, built a planet Earth a moon and sun. He found little? And if I tell you that the movement of the three models have 97% accuracy when compared to the heavenly bodies really?

The thumbnail has a handle that makes the Earth revolves around the Sun, both turn around themselves, all while Moon orbits our planet. Each turn the crank represents a last day on earth, and therein lies the big balcony: the periods for astronomical movements are almost identical to the real life. While in space Moon takes 27.33 days to complete one revolution on earth, in the model are needed 28 "days". For the Sun revolve around yourself, it takes 24.47 days in space and 25 days in miniature. For the Earth to the Sun back are required 375 turns the crank, only 10 more than the days that forms our real year (or nine in leap years such as 2016).

To assemble the miniature were necessary 462 pieces, and if you want to know what they are - to try to play the game - the inventors listed everything in detail on their website. There's even a manual that simulates the official leaflets that come with the kits of Lego.

Oh, and who have a motorized part can leave the system running without tiring the hand. Can you leave ornament - it is much cooler than that digital picture frame you won Christmas a few years ago.
