The Australian band AC / DC has postponed the next ten shows of their US tour after medical alarm you that singer Brian Johnson can go deaf.
"The lead singer of AC / DC, Brian Johnson, was advised by doctors to immediately stop the tour or was in danger of completely losing the hearing," said the band in a statement on Monday (07/03).
The statement also says that the shows will be rescheduled postponed to the end of the year and "probably with a guest vocalist." Tickets already sold are valid for the new date or can be refunded.
The group just announced the cancellation of the American tour, but did not confirm if the shows scheduled in several European countries in the coming months will in fact be realized. The AC / DC did not elaborate on the health status of Johnson.
The band, founded in 1973 by Malcolm and Angus Young brothers, is still one of the most successful international rock bands, famous for presentations that take the volume to the limit. Brian Johnson, 68, joined AC / DC in 1980 after the death of then lead singer Bon Scott.
Johnson hearing problems is the latest of the misfortunes that have reached the legendary band recently. In 2014, guitarist Malcolm Young left the group after being diagnosed with dementia. In the same year, AC / DC drummer Phil Rudd lost, arrested for drug possession and charged with threatening death a former employee in New Zealand.
Since 1973, AC / DC has sold over 200 million records. The seventh album, Back in Black, released in 1980, is the top selling rock history.
