Donald Trump wins in three of the four states where there was vote
A favorite pre-candidate for the nomination of the Democratic Party for the US presidency, Hillary Clinton won the primary in the state of Mississippi, but was surprised by a tight victory of his rival, Bernie Sanders, Michigan, in primary Tuesday (08/03).
Clinton continues to Sanders ahead in the race for the nomination, but the senator from Vermont State still holds firm in the dispute, contradicting forecasts that gave the certainty of the victory of the former secretary of state in the primaries in Michigan.
In the Mississippi, Clinton got a grid base of support among the african-American community, which led to obtain a wide advantage over its competitor in the southern state.
It takes 2,383 delegates to the Democratic nomination. By the time Clinton has 760 votes and Sanders, 546.
Trump goes ahead
In the contest for the nomination of the Republican Party there were no major surprises. The real estate magnate Donald Trump goes ahead of other hopefuls after winning the primaries of his party in Mississippi, Michigan and Hawaii. Senator Ted Cruz triumphed in Idaho.
Trump successes can make the next round of primaries, on 15 March, is decisive to consolidate his appointment. Voting will take place in the states of Ohio, Florida, Illinois, Missouri and North Carolina.
The billionaire, however, is still far from achieving the required number of delegates to secure the party's nomination. It should still take weeks until the applications of the two legends are set.
It takes 1,237 delegates to win the Republican nomination. So far, Trump has 446; Cross, 347 and Rubio, 151.
