Parliament of South Africa impeachment debate president on Tuesday

President Jacob Zuma is accused of using $ 16 billion of public money to fund a reform in their own home

Parliament of South Africa will discuss on Tuesday (5) a request for impeachment against President Jacob Zuma said the president of the National Assembly of the country, Baleka Mbete, on Sunday (3), after a higher court accused president of violating the constitution.

The Constitutional Court of South Africa decided on Thursday (31) that Zuma struck the Constitution by ignoring orders to pay back part of the 16 million dollars in public funds spent on the renovation of their residence in Nkandla.


Since the decision on Thursday, opposition party leaders and even an anti-apartheid activist imprisoned alongside Nelson Mandela to Zuma asked to resign.

Mmusi Maimane, opposition party Democratic Alliance leader, has applied for Zuma's impeachment, and Baleka told reporters that "the debate on this subject was scheduled for Tuesday afternoon."
