Pope fan, Sanders will attend the conference at the Vatican

O democrata Bernie Sanders comemora após vencer a primária em New Hampshire

Washington - Democratic candidate for the US presidency Bernie Sanders said on Friday accepted an invitation to go to the Vatican, saying that its position in the fight for equality of income is similar to that of Pope Francisco.

"I'm a big, big fan of the pope," Sanders said during an interview with MSNBC. "He is trying to implement the sense of morality in the way we do ... economy and we need it desperately."

The Sanders campaign said in a statement that it will participate in conference on social, economic and environmental during the visit on April 15.

Sanders, who has made the fight against poverty the main theme of his campaign, said he will talk during the visit about creating a moral economy.

The visit will take place four days before the Democratic primary in New York state rich in delegates Sanders and Democratic rival Hillary Clinton hope to win as part of the race for the party's nomination to run for the November presidential election
