São Paulo - The British company Coexist decided to adopt an official license for women who are menstruating. The controversial move is aimed at making the most happy and healthy work environment, in sync with the body's natural cycles, explains the director of the company, Bex Baxter.
"In Coexist we are quite comprehensive. If someone is experiencing pain - no matter what kind - is encouraged to go home. But we wanted a policy that recognized and allowed women take a while for the natural cycle of your body without looking at it as a disease, "Bex told The Guardian.
With 24 women in a team of 31 people, Coexist is in the city of Bristol and manages a space for artists and activists called Hamilton House.Segundo the director of business, the idea of the license has been well received by both men and women, especially the new generations.
"I have women in my team who say they feel ashamed to admit that they feel pain. I want to break it, and replace the negative by the positive, "he added to The Guardian.
The executive also clarifies that the license is optional and is not concerned with abuse. "We work on the basis of respect, love and fun. All in Coesxist respect the company and give more than 100% for his work. So do not believe that we will have problems, "said the Huffington Post.
The company claims to be the first in the UK to adopt the license, but it is not unique in the world. In 2007, Nike giant included the measure in its code of conduct and indicates that their partners around the world to do the same.
