IOC will vote on inclusion of 5 new sports to Tokyo Games
Rio de Janeiro - The Assembly of the International Olympic Committee (IOC) will vote on Wednesday to five new sports admission to the Tokyo Games in 2020 in the case, baseball / softball, surfing, karate, rock climbing and skateboarding, which can represent the most recent revolution of the event program.
If approval is the "complete package", ie, of all modes, there will be an increase of 18 tests and 474 athletes, 210 women and 264 men.
The proposal includes a baseball tournament (male) with six teams of 24 players, and a softball (women), with the same number of participants with 15 athletes. Currently, the Olympic program, after golf and rugby inclusions for the Games of Rio de Janeiro, has 28 modes. The others are: athletics, badminton, basketball, handball, boxing, cycling, fencing, football, gymnastics, weightlifting, equestrian, hockey, judo, wrestling, swimming, modern pentathlon, canoeing, rowing, taekwondo, tennis, table tennis, shooting , archery, triathlon, sailing and volleyball.
In Rio de Janeiro will be 306 medal disputes, and 136 female, 161 male and nine mixed.
