Judge prohibits US athletes to leave Brazil after assault

  Judge Keyla Blank, the Special Court of the Fan and Major Events of Rio de Janeiro determined today (17) the seizure of passports of American Olympic swimmers Ryan Lochte and Jimmy Feigen.

The two recorded an occurrence of theft in the Police Special Support Tourism Civil Police.

However, the police officers detected contradictions in the statements given by the two athletes, who said they had been assaulted after leaving a party at the House of France, in the Botanical Garden.

The Agency Brazil has yet to contact the Federal Police for information about compliance with the court decision. According to press reports, Ryan Lochte already left Brazil before he seized his passport.

The US Consulate in Rio de Janeiro has not yet ruled on the matter.
