Russia provides to third definition of number of athletes in Rio 2016
Flags IOC and Russia: definition of final number of the country's athletes at the Olympics due out until Tuesday
The number of Russian athletes allowed to participate in the Olympic Games Rio-2016 can be set on Monday or on Tuesday said the country's Sports Minister Vitali Mutko at the time that Russia is accused of developing a large doping system.
"I hope that today or tomorrow all efforts to enable our team (participate in Rio) are completed," said Mutko in Paris, according to Russian media.
The minister made the statement after participating in a meeting of the International Convention against Doping in Sport UNESCO.
The four days of the opening ceremony of the Olympics, Russian athletes still do not know if you can participate in Rio-2016.
The final decision will correspond to a panel of three members appointed by the International Olympic Committee (IOC). This trio will be responsible for confirming or rejecting, after examining each case individually, the lists of Russian athletes proposed by the international federations of each sport.
The Russians already excluded from the Olympic Games by the international federations can not be repescados by the IOC, but some that were selected can stay out of the event.
On Saturday, Mutko said the Russian Olympic delegation had 266 athletes, compared to the 387 originally planned.
The scandal in the Russian sport exploded in November 2015 with the revelation of a doping system organized in athletics.
On July 18, the McLaren report denounced the existence of a state of doping in the country.
The International Association of Athletics Federations (IAAF) ruled almost all Russian participants.
