Rio de Janeiro - The mayor of Los Angeles, Eric Garcetti acknowledged today that the results of the US presidential election in November may weigh on the chances of the city to host the Olympic Games 2024.
For Garcetti, a victory of Donald Trump Republican candidate may discourage voters from the International Olympic Committee (IOC).
The mayor said that Los Angeles can offer the "last hope" for the US they hosted the Summer Olympics again before the American people begin to "turn off" games.
Garcetti, 45, is a member of the Democratic Party and supports the candidate Hillary Clinton to the White House. He is in Rio de Janeiro to watch the Games and launch the application of your city to the IOC members.
