Inflation retreats in Spain and Germany







In Spain inflation fell in September. According to the national statistics institute, the price index harmonized consumer, as measured by the European Central Bank, recorded a 1.2 percent decline compared with the same month in 2014. The decrease was driven by lower prices electricity and oil as retail prices continue to rise. Analysts had forecast a 0.6 percent decline.

In Germany inflation also stepped back and turned negative for the first time in eight months. According to the federal statistics office, prices in the main economy of the euro zone, in harmonized value, retreated 0.2 percent.
