The Swiss Justice upheld the request of the United States and authorized on Tuesday the extradition of former President of the Confederation of Costa Rica, Eduardo Li. He is the fourth leader who had approved the extradition. The official may appeal.

Li was arrested on May 27 with six other leaders of FIFA, including the former president of the CBF José Maria Marin. The Costa Rican hat is accused of bribery in TV rights for qualifying matches for the 2018 World Cup.

Three other officers are in the process of extradition to the United States: Jeffrey Webb, who was a vice president of FIFA, the Uruguayan Eugenio Figueredo, former president of Conmebol; and Rafael Esquivel, who chaired the Venezuelan Football Federation.

The Justice of the United States and the FBI coordinated investigations against Eduardo Li, mainly because the leader have rigged contracts to benefit from a US company.

Soon after the arrest of the leader in May, Laura Fernandez, his girlfriend, went on to say that the manager wanted a lawyer specializing in international law and had office both in the US and Switzerland.

The ruling girlfriend came to describe the prison in which he was arrested as a place with "nice amenities" and had television. It was the place to take your passport and medications to Li.

Marin should follow suit

About to be extradited to North America, Jose Maria Marin negotiates millionaire bail to change the regime closed for house arrest. He has residency in New York.

The FBI wants Marin has function similar to that of José Hawilla (owner entrepreneur Traffic), who accepted cooperation with the US courts, and agree to pay a fine of US $ 151 million. In return, Hawilla avoided being arrested in the US, with relaxation of the sentence.

With bases in testimonials from Hawilla, the US Justice investigated illegal schemes in television contracts tournaments in the Americas, involving Marin, Ricardo Teixeira and Marco Polo Del Nero. Of the three, Marin was the only detainee.

If extradition is confirmed, the expectation is that the defense Marin is at the maximum weeks in a closed system and then be routed to house arrest for the duration of the process, which is already the case with the J.Hawilla businessman.
