US ban Uber app to use the information in the process

New York - A federal judge in the United States prohibited Monday the Uber and its chief executive Travis Kalanick from using information obtained in a background check in a process of price, stating that the firm that conducted the investigations was involved in a criminal conduct .

District Judge Jed Rakoff in Manhattan said the company Ergo crossed the line when the investigator licensed not lied to friends and acquaintances of the author Spencer Meyer process in an attempt to dig up derogatory information about him and his lawyer.

Rakoff criticized the investigators for claiming the search for information on "back-and-coming researchers in environmental conservation" as the most likely real purpose was to intimidate Meyer or hurt your case on Uber's pricing practices, the sharing service cars.

The judge said the Ergo was "engaged in fraudulent conduct and possibly criminal" and that many of the documents sought to protect "were to facilitate this fraudulent and possibly criminal activity."

Lawyers for Ergo, Uber and the author of the case did not immediately respond to requests for comment. Rakoff said the Uber and Kalanick not opposed to a ban on its use of information gathered by Ergo, as long as they do not admit wrongdoing.
