Shooting in San Diego kills a policeman and let another wounded

San Diego - A policeman was killed and another wounded after a shootout on the outskirts of San Diego, said today local authorities.

According to the Commissioner of Police, Shelley Zimmerman, the injured officer underwent surgery and is doing well.

It is not known what started the shooting, which occurred late last night. Police scours the area for suspects and urged residents of the neighborhood, which is in the northeast of the city, stay indoors.

In his Twitter profile, local police said a suspect was in custody.
