The Dismaland park, artist Banksy, closed last week, but his legacy will live on. That's because the British decided to donate the park structures for building abirgos for Syrian refugees in France.
In an official announcement on the park site, Banksy said the materials will be used to build shelters in Calais, in northern France, an area that receives about 3,500 immigrants.
The artist had demonstrated his sensitivity to the cause of refugees in the phasing out of Dismaland. The last day park activities had show the Russian group Pussy Riot, who sang the "Refugee" music, criticizing Europe's position in relation to immigrants.
The Dismaland was in operation for five weeks and received over 150,000 visitors.
