BILL GATES IS DILMA AND SAYS LAWSUIT AGAINST WAS PETROBRAS 'misunderstanding'

President Dilma Rousseff met at the end of Sunday afternoon (27/09) in New York, with Bill Gates, co-founder and former president of Microsoft technology giant, in a meeting that lasted nearly an hour. The entrepreneur started the conversation lamenting what he called a misunderstanding about the information that his foundation would have sued Petrobras and proved uncomfortable, according to government advisers present at the meeting.

According to one of the advisors, Gates would have apologized for this "misunderstanding". Gates's meeting with Dilma came amid a noise caused due to new lawsuit against Petrobras opened on the New York court on Thursday. The initial information was that the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation was the author of the process.

In the official document sent to the Court, the plaintiff is the "Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation Trust." The Bill Gates Foundation, the largest philanthropic organization in the world with $ 43 billion in assets, has clarified in its website that the entity is a manager who takes care of resources for the institution. The text states that "the lawsuit refers to investments made by an external manager which invests on behalf of the entity that owns resources that support the foundation's activities."


This external manager and the fund are separate from the foundation, says the text of the statement. Bill Gates came to the hotel where Dilma is hosted in New York with his wife, Melinda Gates, around 18h ​​(GMT) and left an hour later. He did not speak to the press and came out carrying the "Tom and Vinicius" mascots chosen for the 2016 Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro. Dilma invited the businessman to go to the sporting event.

At the meeting, Dilma and Bill Gates also discussed education and technology projects for social development. Another issue was the establishment of cooperation projects between Brazil and Africa in the feeding area and vaccination. One idea is to lead a healthier diet to Brazilian schools. Bill Gates is the richest man in the world, according to Forbes magazine, with a fortune estimated at $ 80 billion. Its foundation is non-profit and based in Seattle, USA, manages $ 38 billion.


World Forum

Before meeting with Bill Gates, Rousseff had a private meeting of about 20 minutes with the German Klaus Schwab, known for being the founder of the World Economic Forum, which takes place every year in Davos, Switzerland. According to counsel, the entrepreneur made a "courtesy call" and Dilma Schwab invited to go to the Forum, which takes place between 20 and 23 January 2016.
