Putin and Obama meets behind closed doors in Paris
Moscow 30 Nov (EFE) .- The presidents of Russia, Vladimir Putin, and the United States, Barack Obama, are meeting on Monday behind closed doors in Paris during the Climate Summit held in the French capital, according to informed the agencies Russian.
This is the second meeting between them in the last two weeks and the first since November 24, when a Russian bomber was shot down Turkey's Syrian border incident that caused a serious diplomatic conflict between Moscow and Ankara.
Putin ordered imposition of economic sanctions against Turkey after Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan refused to ask formally apologize for the overthrow of the Russian plane.
Meanwhile, Obama and NATO supported the right of Turkey to defend its territory and called on Russia to refrain from aerial missions near the Turkish-Syrian border, but have asked for the two countries to normalize their relations.
Since the last meeting two weeks ago at the G20 summit in the Turkish city of Antalya, Obama asked Putin to focus the Russian aviation attacks in Syria in the positions of the jihadist group Islamic State (EI) and not to strengthen the Bashar al Assad regime
Putin decided to coordinate military action with France and the US-led coalition after meeting last Thursday in Moscow with French President Francois Hollande.
